Strasbourg city hall will distribute 25,000 cinema tickets kindergarten and primary school students in the city. The measure was voted unanimously by elected officials during a municipal council on Monday, November 15.
Support local cinemas
Cinema tickets, to be used outside of school time, will be sent to all children from the city. The cost of the operation is € 150,000.
The distribution of places will be made depending on the programming of each cinema and the age of the children. Kindergarten students will therefore be primarily directed to cinemas offering short formats and young audiences.
Children attending school in a priority education network (Rep or Rep +) will receive two places instead of one.
“The operation is also part of a vast plan to support cultural players after particularly difficult months, and in particular for professionals in the 7th art”, specifies Jeanne Barseghian, the mayor of Strasbourg.
