Strasbourg celebrates Pride Month with a vibrant program of events and activities

From May 17 to June 18, the city is adorned with rainbow colors, like the forecourt of the station, to celebrate Pride Month, or Visibility Month. Many activities are planned throughout Strasbourg, and beyond. Sometimes festive, educational or simply friendly, they aim to make the LGBTQIA+ community as visible as possible under the watchword “EXISTIONS!” chosen by FestiGays, the organizing association.

The kick-off was launched on the World Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, on May 17. Since then, you may have been able to participate in the Mega Mousse Party at the House of Marley last week. THE Demostrative festival
on the Esplanade campus was also in the theme with the cabaret drag of the 12 drag queens of Hercules.

This set of events is organized by the association FestiGayswhich carries the organization of the Pride March, or the Pride, since 2002. Under the aegis of the latter, there are many small associations and partner places. You will also find the complete Pride Month agenda on the website of the FestiGays association

. The objective of these festivities remains mainly to give a voice to people belonging to the LGBTI community (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexuals and Intersex) and to make them visible. It is also about sensitizing the rest of the population to queer issues. As the association writes, their wish is to ” raise the voice of inclusivity loud and clear ».
