A straphanger was punched in the face and robbed in a random attack on a Manhattan train early Tuesday, cops said.
The 24-year-old was on a train No. 1 southbound approaching Rector Street around 4:30 am when two men punched him without provocation, authorities said.
They seized his wallet – containing an unspecified amount of cash – and his cell phone, police said.
The couple escaped the train as they entered the station, cops said.
The victim refused to seek treatment on the spot.
The incident comes after at least six straphangers were attacked in the city’s subway between Sunday and Monday.
