A resident of Novodvorská Street in Prague 4 contacted the PrahaIN.cz server. He reported not only us, but also the police about a strange van standing in front of the local Penny supermarket.
As we managed to find out from other locals, carp sellers originally had their “home” in it. This is also confirmed by the remains of torn fish, which are found behind the windshield. The fact that the van was standing on the grass where it obviously shouldn’t have been the least of the problems.
“On Christmas Eve I suddenly hear very loud noises. Not the vehicle alarm, but the horn. Initially, I thought that someone was honking at someone, but when it had been going on for about twenty minutes, I started to worry because it was echoing throughout the street,” Petr Straka described to our editors.
It was he who finally called the police around 9:30 p.m.
“People were climbing onto the balcony, calling for the de*il to turn it off, that they were still unwrapping presents, asking what was going on. I was worried that someone might have had a heart attack and ended up with their head on the steering wheel, you know what happened the last week, I was scared,” he continues, adding that he finally went outside on December 24 to look for the source of the loud honking.

Everyone heard the honking
He eventually discovered the van at the local Penny Market.
“I walked carefully to the van because I didn’t know if anyone was inside, but there wasn’t. The police arrived and apparently disconnected something there, I didn’t see that, but then it stopped,” added Petr Straka.
We went to see the place on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 26, when the van was still on the grass. In addition, it had the front and rear license plates removed. Pieces of dead fish could really be seen in the driver’s seat. Not to mention the rest of the mess.
A woman with a pram who was passing here confirmed the honking for us.
“I also heard it at about nine in the evening on Christmas Day, it was quite unpleasant, it even woke up the little one. They sold fish in it, as far as I can remember. I don’t understand why they left it here, it’s been there for several days,” she explained.
