Residents of Grodno filmed unusual aerial objects in the sky above the building of the regional executive committee, located in the city center.
Local residents are at a loss, for which black kites in the form of birds of prey were hung from the back of the regional administration building. Their photos and videos published local portal NewsGrodno.
Most likely, this was done in order to scare away real birds that regularly settle under the canopies and on the technical floors of city skyscrapers. Pigeons, crows, swallows, gulls – these birds quietly build their nests in urban areas, which is often not liked by housing and communal services workers.
Apparently, it was they who decided to adopt the experience of summer residents who use similar kites that imitate the flight of birds of prey in order to scare away smaller “feathered pests” from the garden and garden. At the sight of a large predator soaring in the sky, small birds, such as sparrows, tits and even rooks, as a rule, fly around the side of the garden, and this is how summer residents save their harvest of strawberries, raspberries, cherries.
The principle of operation of such an “air protector” is very simple and does not require human participation: a kite, as a rule, is mounted on a thin long stick, and it spreads its “wings” from the slightest breath of wind.
However, how effective this approach will be in protecting the Grodno regional administration is unknown. Indeed, as practice shows, “local” birds quickly get used to a predator constantly hovering in the same place and cease to perceive it as a threat. Therefore, summer residents, as a rule, “modernize” and change the location of the “winged defender” during the summer season.
