Tom’s father has only one wish on his deathbed: that his son go to the West and finally turn from a paraplegic into a man. A dying man has three old friends – Holy Joe, Bull and Monkey Smith – who will take care of him, he just has to get there. And since Tom is an obedient son, he goes on a journey.
