“Strange beings” attack sheep in the Chaco

La Herencia: Several residents of a community in the Chaco are concerned that “strange beings” were fighting with the guards they set up when they attacked their sheep.

The incidents occur in the municipality of La Herencia near Rio Verde, Presidente Hayes (Chaco), mainly just before rain.

“We don’t know what’s going to happen. Some say it is a dog, but bigger, another says that it is a puma or the famous chupacabras that attack our animals, ”explained Elvio Cabañas, one of the victims.

The puzzle does not leave anyone alone, as only sheep are attacked and only these types of animals. “The goats have no problems, they just hunt sheep. We think it can be a sacrificial ritual or someone who feeds on sheep’s blood, ”he added, who now has only 2 left of 30 sheep.

The lambs have wounds on their thighs, others on their shoulders and necks. Those that are larger survive, but the young ones die. “In our case, a lamb was killed. The being has neither eaten the meat nor the innards, only sucked out the blood, ”complained Cabañas.

Residents fear that when there are no more sheep, the mysterious creature will attack people in the area and children. To counter this situation, those affected have now put up guards.

“One of these guards said that she fought the attacker from the sheep and that he looked like a dog, but bigger and very strong that she couldn’t do anything. It’s strange and scary, people don’t want to go out at night for fear that the strange being will attack them. Others only go out with a rifle, but we are also afraid that it will hurt an innocent person, ”continues Cabañas.

So far, more or less 100 sheep have been victims of this mysterious attack, which began last August and occurs every time it rains.
