Well, here are some animal species that make you shake your head. Not only because of its physical appearance, but also the way it preys or breeds. Here are the details:

1. Siphonophore

The Siphonophore animal is as unique as its name. Siphonophore is the longest animal in the world, found in Australian waters. This animal is even longer than the blue whale. At 45 meters high, the blue whale has a maximum length of 29.9 meters. Well, the Siphonophore arranged in a feeding spiral, was discovered in 2020 as part of the Schmidt Ocean Institute’s deep-sea expedition. A relative of the Portuguese man o’ war, Siphonophore has tentacles that are deadly and sting in the water.

2. Rusa Munjac

Muntjac deer use scent to communicate, and can breed all year round. This deer is often referred to as a “barking deer” because of its sound like a dog. The muntjac deer is a small, stocky mammal. Originally from the Southeast Asian region, but now common in the English countryside. This deer has adapted well to various habitats and is often found in forest areas.

Their small and stocky bodies and their jumping ability make them easy to move in dense forest vegetation. Another uniqueness of the muntjac deer is the gland that looks prominent.

3. Hoatzin

Hoatzins are often referred to as “smelly birds”, none other than because of their pungent smell. This is caused by the fermentation of food in their digestion. With a blue head, and a combination of brown, black and white fur, the Hoatzin is definitely one of the strangest animals. Native to the Amazon, these chicks have claws for climbing trees.
