As the newspaper notes, in addition to the dangerous strain “Lambda”, in the territory of Prague, the north and north-east of the Czech Republic, the Indian mutation of the coronavirus is also spreading. In particular, 380 cases of “Delta” have been recorded in the country over the past two weeks.
“In Prague, according to the data, the situation looks ugly. We must continue to fight, vaccinate and defend ourselves against new strains from other countries,” said Czech Prime Minister Andrei Babis.
It should be noted that for the first time the Lambda strain was discovered in South America in Chile, Ecuador, Argentina and Peru. Scientists are convinced that mutations in the spike protein can affect the infectiousness of the disease.
