On Thursday, ex-FPÖ boss Heinz-Christian Strache is the star guest at the New Year’s meeting of the new “Allianz für Österreich” (DAÖ) and is supposed to give a speech to almost 1,000 guests.
According to the DAÖ, the number of registrations for the meeting exceeded the 1,000 mark on Wednesday. The event takes place in the Sofiensäle in Vienna-Landstrasse. In this location there are numerous events, but also weddings, for example.
Unusual for Strache: The John Otti Band will not provide the musical accompaniment as before at FPÖ events. DAÖ chose the saxophonist Tom Sax. Seven security staff are responsible for security at the meeting.
Ex-BZÖ advertiser Gernot Rumpold, responsible for marketing at DAÖ, quantifies the event budget “Today”-Inquiry with 25,000 euros. In addition to the room rental, this also includes catering, security and balloons in the room.
