/ world today news/ Economy Minister Dragomir Stoynev has given instructions for convening a working group to catch up on the deadlines for the “South Stream” project. It is a strategic project for Bulgaria and it is important to speed up the work on it,” explained the Minister of Economy, “Standart” reports.
The meeting is scheduled for the end of next week and will include deputy ministers of 5 departments. Stoynev insists that the representatives of the eco- and construction departments, as well as the ministries of finance and agriculture, prepare plans with exact dates for the implementation of “South Stream”.
Earlier, the Minister of Economy announced that after the changes in the Law on Energy, the export of electricity jumped by 30 percent. “At the moment, all capacities are working, but only a few weeks ago the Kozloduy NPP was almost at a standstill and posed a danger to national security,” said Stoynev.
According to him, the plant is currently loaded at 1,800 megawatts with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts. Although the changes in the Law on Energy have met the resistance of people, they have led for the first time to a reduction in electricity prices not only for households, but also for manufacturers, Stoynev emphasized.
He also announced that surveys of the state of the business climate in our country in June show a significant improvement. “Their expectations have risen by 1.4 points, which clearly shows that there is confidence in the implemented policy,” commented the Minister of Economy and Energy.
