Stoyanka said goodbye to the stage – 2024-08-08 19:32:47

/ world today news/ The great Stoyanka Mutafova will soon say “Goodbye” to the theater to which she devoted nearly 70 years of her life. The actress turned 92 a few months ago, but she still finds the strength to play in plays and take part in holiday concerts and show programs, writes “Every day”.

Soon, however, she will have to get off the stage as she can barely stay on her feet and often forgets lines.

Already 6-7 years ago, Mutafova considered getting off the stage, but as she herself shared with a laugh, she did not succeed. Many of Stoyana’s relatives know that even at this age she works like crazy to support her only daughter Maria Grubeshlieva – Muki. Alas, the child does not have the talent of her mother and cannot earn a living on her own, therefore, even in her old age, Mutafova completely gives herself up for her daughter.

But this time is different, and at 92, the great comedienne realizes it’s time to retire. She herself can barely see and has difficulty moving, can only take a few steps without help, but despite this, her stubbornness and strong spirit drive her to still play. Until recently, Stoyanka toured the country with the magnificent performance “Mrs. Natural Disaster”. For 3 years now, Mutafova has been reincarnated in “Crazy Lady Julie”, with which she conquers her native stages. This will be the last performance in which the star of the Satirical Theater will participate. She will not be taking on any other commitments.

The inimitable Mutafova plans to say goodbye to her beloved audience by the end of the year, making several more tours with the play in several cities. Last night she was supposed to play for the last time on the Razgrad stage. Razgrad is among the last cities where the production will be performed, the local Drama Theater “Anton Strashimirov” announced. The troupe had also prepared a special surprise for the magnificent actress and for her farewell to the city of Ludogorsk.

Mutafova stars as Julie, a widow who has lost her husband and seeks comfort from her son Richard and daughter-in-law Harriet. Soon, however, her presence gets to the young people and comical and insanely funny situations start to happen. Behind the laughter, however, lies the loneliness of the elderly and their longing for closeness. Perhaps it is this loneliness that makes Mutafova still afraid to get off the stage forever and postpone this moment as long as possible.
