German cinemas are reopening and one of the first new releases is “Stowaway”. Netzwelt reveals how you can already watch the science fiction film in the stream at home.

In the past few years we have got used to the fact that current US films arrive in German cinemas around the same time. In the age of the Internet, in which spoilers and pirated copies end up on the Internet within hours, the film studios can no longer publish at least large blockbusters at large intervals.
During the corona pandemic, of course, many films were pushed back internationally, but in some cases the USA had to wait much shorter. On the one hand, the US cinemas reopened their doors a little earlier, on the other hand, some films were streamed on HBO Max, some of which are still waiting for a theatrical release in Germany.
With “Stowaway” it was a little different. The science fiction film with Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim and Toni Collette appeared on Netflix all over the world on April 22, 2021 – just not in Germany. In Germany, the film will be released in cinemas on June 24th.
Stream “Stowaway” on Netflix today
It is not particularly difficult for German Netflix users to simply stream “Stowaway” as well and save going to the cinema. For this you need, in addition to a Netflix subscription, a VPN service with which you can access the streaming programs of other countries.

Through the VPN connection, the country block of Netflix can be bypassed, so that you can stream “Stowaway” without any problems. A German soundtrack is currently not available, but at least there are German subtitles. Viewers who like to see films in original sound will of course have no problems with the English sound anyway.
Incidentally, it is not the first time that a film has come to cinemas in this country, while it is sold as a Netflix original in many other countries. “The Silence”, an “A Quiet Place” cut with Stanley Tucci and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” star Kiernan Shipka, also ran very well in the US on Netflix, but was completely lost at the German box office.
