He walked millions together with his walker and was a symbol of hope and compassion during the heart of the Covid storm in Britain. In total, he raised around £ 40 million for the British health services and his cover of You’ll never walk alone became a number 1 on the UK charts. That did not go unnoticed: his birthday was celebrated en masse in he was knighted by queen Elizabeth II. On top of that, he set two more world records: the oldest person with a No. 1 hit and the most money raised in an individual fundraising walk.
The man behind the headlines
He has now also written an autobiography, Tomorrow will be a good day. The title is indicative of his optimism. He also released a children’s book, One hundred steps, ‘about adventure, family, never giving up and what we can achieve when we work together’.
His biography will soon be made into a film by Fred Films and Powder Keg Pictures. ‘We are honored to be able to tell this unique and inspiring story and look forward to people getting to know the man behind the headlines’, it sounds there.
