Story of 100-year veteran who raised millions become …

Sir Tom Moore, the 100-year British veteran, will receive a memento of his heartwarming corona fundraiser after his knighthood. His story is being made into a film, and it will be shown as early as 2021.

He walked millions together with his walker and was a symbol of hope and compassion during the heart of the Covid storm in Britain. In total, he raised around £ 40 million for the British health services and his cover of You’ll never walk alone became a number 1 on the UK charts. That did not go unnoticed: his birthday was celebrated en masse in he was knighted by queen Elizabeth II. On top of that, he set two more world records: the oldest person with a No. 1 hit and the most money raised in an individual fundraising walk.

The man behind the headlines

He has now also written an autobiography, Tomorrow will be a good day. The title is indicative of his optimism. He also released a children’s book, One hundred steps, ‘about adventure, family, never giving up and what we can achieve when we work together’.

His biography will soon be made into a film by Fred Films and Powder Keg Pictures. ‘We are honored to be able to tell this unique and inspiring story and look forward to people getting to know the man behind the headlines’, it sounds there.

The film will tell the story of Moore who lives with his family after his wife Pamela passed away. They were together for 40 years. It is equally about his military career during World War II, or the skin cancer he conquered. It may also be about his knighthood – he called the Queen herself ‘a charming person’ and remembers how servants brought a chair specifically for her handbag.

Michael Caine of Anthony Hopkins

It is not yet clear who will get the honor of playing the 100-year-old captain. “I don’t exactly know 100-year-old actors,” said Moore with a laugh. Although he does have recommendations: “I’m sure Michael Caine (87, red.) of Anthony Hopkins (82, red.) would do great if they make them look a bit older! ‘ Caine has another edge: the British actor was knighted by the Queen, just like Moore.

Captain Tom Moore, even now, a century old, is far from finished fighting. He wants to continue to work for good causes. His daughter helps him with the Captain Tom Foundation, which must raise money to combat loneliness and to promote equality, among other things. Moore has already received more than 150,000 letters and 7,500 gifts, and they just keep coming.
