At the end of the 1980s, Robert Poujade designed what would become one of the most important projects of his various mandates: the Toison d’Or district. Inspired by West Edmonton Mall au Canada , the largest shopping center in North America, the Toison d’Or is resolutely modern and includes a shopping center, a leisure area and a business area. The leisure park, which also includes an aquatic center (adjoining the shopping center), is financed by the Lyonnaise des eaux which is associated with the Belgian Walibi while the amusement parks are booming.
