The first summer month begins with stormy weather
At the beginning of the month, the weather is still unstable, and at least in Western Bulgaria it will remain so until the start of the astronomical summer on June 21. During the first weekend of the month, a cold atmospheric front passes over the country with temporarily intense rains, thunderstorms and sudden increases in the wind.
In the early hours of Saturday, it rained in North-West Bulgaria. In the course of the day, the rain front will cover the western, central and northeastern parts of the country. Significant amounts of rain will fall briefly in some areas with the risk of localized flooding. There will be conditions for severe thunderstorm activity and hail. Without precipitation, but with variable and breaking clouds on Saturday, the areas along the coast and in the Southeast will remain. Daily temperatures will be between 22 and 27-28 degrees with higher values in the eastern regions.
At night and on Sunday, the processes will be limited around the mountains and foothills of Western and Central Bulgaria. Thunderstorm activity will decrease and limit hail risk areas. Many places in the eastern half of the country will see the sun. Temperatures will slightly drop to daily values in the range of 21-26 degrees.
From June 5 onwards, the week will start with more dynamic weather on Monday – again with afternoon thunderstorms around the mountains in Western and Central Bulgaria. Around the middle of the period, the cloudiness will be with frequent breaks, the precipitation will be scarcer and mainly around the western mountain ranges. As the weekend approaches, there will again be conditions for stronger afternoon showers and thunderstorms. During the period, the temperatures will be without sharp anomalies. Daily values will range between 22 and 27-28 degrees.
