First comes the wind, then the heat. The weather service expects a stormy night in the southwest. Draft can then be provided at the weekend.
Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – There could be a lot flying around in Baden-Württemberg on Wednesday night. The German Weather Service expects gusts of wind and gusts of wind of up to 80 kilometers per hour. According to information from Tuesday, these are not immense wind speeds compared to winter storms. Due to the long drought, trees and branches could break off with these weak gusts and end up on paths or rails. “Damage is inevitable,” said a spokesman.
According to the information, showers and thunderstorms will pass from the north-west of Baden-Württemberg to the south-east of the country in the coming night. After a break, one shower could be followed by the next.
On Wednesday showers and thunderstorms move to the southeast and it loosens up. Around Stuttgart it should remain free of precipitation from midday. Strong winds can still blow in the Kurpfalz, in the Kraichgau, around Heilbronn and on the Tauber. Rain will probably only fall in the evenings in the Allgäu.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, people in the south-west can then plan to visit the outdoor pool again – and ventilate attic apartments. It’s getting hot and increasingly muggy. Temperatures of around 34 degrees around Stuttgart and possibly 36 degrees in the Rheingraben can be reached on Sunday. The nights on Sunday and Monday can be tropical in the big cities with temperatures not below 20 degrees.
