Next Saturday, the Central Committee meets for the deletion of Stefanos Kasselakis, who sent an extrajudicial letter after the leak of his Pothen Esches. In the end, the proposal submitted to the Political Secretariat was accepted after the requests of several executives asking for an extraordinary convocation of the KE.
It is recalled that the issue of deleting Stefanos Kasselakis from SYRIZA was raised at the PG meeting by Olga Gerovasilis.
At the same time, the SYRIZA member of parliament called for an immediate convening of the party’s Central Committee, noting that actions such as the extrajudicial sent to the PG and the KE for the leak of Pothen Esches undermine the party’s cohesion.
As stated in the PG announcement:
The PG of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance met today, among other things, to advance the process regarding the nominations for the election of president, and the posting, today, of the candidates’ credentials, as provided for by the decisions of the K.E.
· Consequently, leaks from anywhere regarding any candidate, have no meaning, are absolutely reprehensible and have nothing to do with the Secretary of the KE, nor with the PG and the party’s organs.
Any claim to the contrary is intended to create artificial tension, and does not correspond to reality.
The act of extrajudicial protest against the party organs by the former president is unprecedented and is returned as unacceptable.
· It is pointed out that, in the decision of the K.E. of September 21, 2024, it is set as a condition for all candidates to file a petition, so that it is published on the SYRIZA-PS website, and it is noted that “it is imperative, in order to prove in action and not in words, that neither our party , nor do our executives have anything to hide.” Therefore, the submission of the necessary signatures, as well as a copy of the relevant documents, constitutes express consent for its publication on the website.
P.G. convenes an extraordinary meeting of the Central Committee on Saturday 12/10/2024 following the latest developments in order to proceed in an orderly manner with the prescribed procedures for the election of a President.
