The former adult film actress and self-proclaimed Donald Trump mistress, Stormy Daniels, has been a vocal critic of the former president since she came forward with allegations of an affair with him in 2018. Now, with Trump facing the possibility of indictment, Daniels has stepped back into the spotlight to speak out about his downfall. In a candid interview, she shares her thoughts on why she believes Trump’s reign as ‘king’ has finally come to an end.
Stormy Daniels, the adult film star at the centre of a hush-money case against former US president Donald Trump, has expressed her belief that he should be held accountable for his actions but not sent to prison. Trump is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records relating to the $130,000 payment he made to Daniels to buy her silence about an alleged affair. Appearing in her first major interview since the charges were filed, Daniels told Fox Nation’s Piers Morgan that “if he is found guilty” of other crimes, he should be jailed.
During the 90-minute interview, Daniels said she was “shocked” to see Trump appear in court, as she had not expected him to be held accountable. “The king has been dethroned – he’s no longer untouchable,” she said. Daniels called for everyone, regardless of their position or job description, to be held responsible for their actions.
Since the charges were filed, Daniels stated that she had been regularly threatened with violence. She described the tone of the messages she receives as becoming increasingly violent, with some comparing the threat to “like a suicide bomber”. Despite this, she noted that she welcomed the opportunity to testify and would “look forward to it” should she be called upon.
Trump also faces criminal investigations in relation to his alleged attempts to overturn his election loss and mishandling of classified documents in Washington, as well as his efforts to overturn his defeat in Georgia. The charges filed against him mark the first time a current or former US president has been charged with criminal activity.
The case is still in its early stages, with the first hearing scheduled for December 4th. It is possible that a trial could begin as early as next January, while Trump is campaigning for the 2024 presidential nomination. Daniels’ interview with Morgan is her most extensive yet and aims to put to rest any misinformation that may have been spread about her or the charges against Trump.
