Historic things are happening in the US right now. For the first time, a former president has to answer in court: Donald Trump. Now a protagonist expresses herself in the case.
Washington, DC – Charges have been filed against Donald Trump for forging documents. The announcement of the legal action against the former US President made waves in the US. Now one of those involved has commented on the case: former adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump, who appears to have had an affair with Daniels, paid her money to keep the public from knowing about the affair.
To this day, the ex-president denies having had a long-term relationship with the erotic actress. Now Daniels said: “I don’t think he needs to go to jail for his crimes against me. If he’s going to be prosecuted for other things he’s done, then absolutely.”
Stormy Daniels on Trump: ‘I thought he’d get away with it’
Daniels spoke about Trump in an hour-and-a-half interview with British journalist Piers Morgen. She was surprised that the Republican had to appear in court at all. “I thought he would get away with it,” Daniels said.
According to her, “the king was dethroned”. He is no longer untouchable. “No one should be untouchable, no matter what your job – whether you’re the president – you should always be held accountable for your actions,” Daniels said.
Stormy Daniels on Trump: She would be happy to testify against Trump
A concrete process will probably not begin until next year. Should it come to that, Daniels would “look forward to” testifying against Donald Trump: “I think if they call me and let me testify, it legitimizes my story and who I am. If they don’t, I almost feel like they’re hiding me.”
Trump plans to run again in the presidential election next year. In the current field of Republican candidates, Trump is the absolute favorite. However, Ron DeSantis from Florida could also throw his hat in the ring. Polls as to the race between these two candidates are inconclusive. Trump has already started attacking DeSantis in speeches.
