(ANSA) – ROME, 08 NOV – A weekend with thunderstorms on the major islands and on the Tyrrhenian coasts, followed, from Monday, by the arrival of the winter cold and from Tuesday, snow at low altitude. This is the meteorological scenario for the next few days, according to Antonio Sanò, founder of the site ‘iLMeteo.it’. The heat accumulated by the oceans due to global warming, according to Sanò, “is still released in these hours and in these anomalous autumn days. In short, we run the risk of intense phenomena over the weekend due to the heat and the formation of thunderstorms on the Sea Tyrrhenian Sea, around the Balearics and on the Strait of Sicily: some storms could also hit the coasts adjacent to these basins”. From Monday the freezing point, from the current 3000 meters, will gradually fall to 800 meters in the Italian north-west. In summary, snowfall at low altitude or freezing rain on the plains cannot be ruled out from Tuesday; we will witness such a sudden change that it will make us forget 2 months, as if they had never existed”.
