Several mountain passes are closed overnight to Friday due to storms.
A motorhome with two people in their 80s drove off the road on Fylkevei 51 Øystre Slidre in Innlandet on Thursday evening.
No one was seriously injured in the accident, but there are drifts of snow and slippery conditions in the area.
– This happened exactly on the border between Øystre Slidre and Vang, which is where the Valdresflye mountain pass begins, around 1100-1200 meters above sea level, says police operations manager Øyvind Bakken to VG.
– There have been drifts of snow so that it has become slippery.
Shortly after the accident, which the police received at 22.35, the Road Traffic Center East reported that Fylkesvei 51 Valdresflye is closed due to the storm.
– There is snow drift and strong wind on the mountain, they write on Twitter.
New assessment comes at 08:00 on Friday morning.
Operations manager Bakken says that the police routinely notified the Road Traffic Center about the driving conditions at the site.
– It has also been very windy, so there has been strong wind and snowdrifts in the area, he says, adding that the motorhome must have been driving with winter tyres.
National highway 7 on Hardangervidda and Fylkesvei 55 above Sognefjellet are also closed due to storms on the night of Friday.
