In Stuttgart, the fire brigade said it had to secure a roof after it had been damaged by the storm and bricks had come loose.

There was first storm damage in the Black Forest and in Stuttgart:

In the northern Black Forest and on the Swabian Alb there was some damage during the afternoon due to the storm: in the Freudenstadt district, trees and construction site barriers fell onto the road in several places, for example in Lossburg. In Nagold (Calw district), a fallen construction fence damaged a parked car. In Kirchentellinsfurt (Tübingen district), a boat capsized on the quarry pond. Neither the boat driver nor the boat were injured. In Dettingen an der Erms (Reutlingen district), a traffic sign was blown over and blocked the road. In Biberach, the storm affected a ventilation system in the hospital, the police said. Between Empfungen and Haigerloch (Zollernalbkreis), a car trailer was pushed against the guardrail by the storm.

Severe disruption to rail traffic

Deutsche Bahn had already announced on Twitter in the morning that there could be impairments and speed reductions in rail traffic. Travelers should therefore inform themselves regularly about their connection. The railway line between Engen (Konstanz district) and Immendingen (Tuttlingen district) was closed until shortly before 4 p.m. due to a fallen tree. The tree on the tracks blocked the Stuttgart-Zurich and Stuttgart-Singen connections. A rail replacement service was set up. The route of the Breisgau S-Bahn between Breisach and Gottenheim (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) is still closed – because of another fallen tree. Many people have to wait at the Himmelreich train station, for example.

Tree on the route between #Breisach and #Gottenheim. track closure. Trains from #Freiburg(Breisgau) Hbf turn around in #Gottenheim. Trains from #Endingen am Kaiserstuhl turn in #Gottenheim. SEV with two buses between #Gottenheim and #Breisach is set up. update follows.
