The severe storms are currently causing dangerous situations and numerous operations throughout Austria. Storm leaves traces in Graz
The gusts of wind were also clearly felt in Graz on Saturday evening – and left chaos in some places. For example, there are currently disruptions to public transport in the Andritz area. “Due to an incident, line 5 is currently unable to travel to Andritz. A replacement bus service from Jakominiplatz to Andritz has been set up until the end of operations,” says Holding Graz. A number of trees have also fallen onto the road on Wienerstrasse, causing obstructions. In the Straßgang district, some households are also currently without electricity.

By Saturday evening, over 10,000 households in Styria were without electricity. The regions around Graz and Leibnitz as well as St. Stefan im Rosental are particularly affected. According to the energy suppliers, over 160 transformer stations were out of service, making it difficult to restore the power supply, media reports. Meteorologists continue to warn of stormy gusts and heavy rainfall in Styria. It is assumed that the situation could worsen in the next few hours.
