In the north, the storm is raging, where a storm center out in the Norwegian Sea leads to strong winds along large parts of the Norwegian coast.

On-duty meteorologist Martin Granerød at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute says that the storm is raging at its worst in Ofoten, Lofoten and western Finnmark.

– Up to 30 to 35 meters of wind per second is expected in several places, says the meteorologist, who encourages residents to be careful in storms.

– There is such a strong wind that trees can tip over, and other loose objects such as trampolines and garden furniture can be grabbed by the wind, he says.

In a twitter update at 13 o’clock on Wednesday, the meteorologists also write that a danger warning has been sent out for the whole of Rogaland, in addition to Rogaland and Agder:

In the next few days, large parts of the west coast in Norway can expect strong winds, Granerød says.

– Be prepared for a lot of wind and attach loose objects.

Can get summer weather in the south

Residents elsewhere in Norway, on the other hand, do not have to worry about the severe storm on Wednesday.

– Tafjord measured 20 degrees already before 9 o’clock this morning. It is due to a dry wind that has caused high temperatures, Granerød says.

Tafjord is located on Sunnmøre.

In Central Norway, they also have high temperatures, but it will rain in the evening, he says.

– Also in Eastern Norway, the temperature will gradually rise, and the warmest places can probably expect temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees. This applies to places in Telemark, inner Vestfold and Buskerud, he says.

– It is the locals who will run away with the highest temperatures, as it is now.

According to the meteorologist, the weekend can offer both sun and heat in several places in the country.

– If today’s forecasts come true, the weekend looks good for Southern and Eastern Norway. It can also be quite good in Western Norway through the weekend, but until then it will be very wet, Granerød says.
