Storm Dennis. Rail traffic disrupted in the West, nearly 45,000 homes without electricity

Nearly 45,000 homes were still without power Sunday night in the northwest quarter after storm Dennis, which also disrupted rail traffic, including a TGV stationed in Eure-et-Loir.

A TGV Nantes Paris, diverted from its usual line, had to be stopped because of a fallen tree in the La Loupe sector (Eure-et-Loire), not far from Paris. At 2:52 p.m. the train, with around 700 people on board, was still immobilized on the tracks at 9:30 p.m. according to the SNCF. In Pays de la Loire, 15,000 households remained without power at 7 p.m .: 6,500 in Maine-et-Loire, 4,000 in Mayenne, 3,000 in Sarthe, 1,500 in Loire-Atlantique and practically none in Vendée. We are waiting for reinforcements from other regions, we are doing our best, but the return to normal is expected on Monday, warned a regional spokesperson for Enedis.

In Normandy, around 8:00 p.m. 4,000 customers were without electricity, including 1,100 in the Orne, 1,100 in the Eure, 800 in Seine-Maritime, 500 in Calvados and 500 in the Manche, said Enedis. At this time, technicians are still working in the field. A maximum of 1,500 customers cut tonight across Normandy should remain, assured Enedis.

Orange vigilance lifted

Météo France has lifted orange vigilance (wind and / or rain) Sunday afternoon for the four Breton departments as well as for La Manche and Calvados.

The rainy episode is coming to an end. The cumulative rainfall measured for the episode generally exceeds 40 mm in Finistère and Morbihan, assured the organization.

In Hauts-de-France, around 8:00 p.m., there were 3,300 households without electricity, notably in the Avesnois and in Lille, according to Enedis.
