Since Friday, 61 pub goers have been trapped at the Tan Hill Inn pub in the remote Yorkshire Dales in northern England.
It reports Sky News.
The blizzard “Arwen” is ravaging northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
This weekend was 55,000 households in the north of England without electricity, and along the M62 motorway, which runs between Liverpool in the north-west and Hull in the north-east, 120 trucks were stuck in snow at one point.
The enormous amounts of snow have led to power lines blocking the roads around the pub, which with its 527 meters above sea level is England’s highest pub.
Pub goers have a hard time getting anywhere – but that doesn’t seem to matter to them.
Enjoying mulled wine
An auxiliary corps was able to get a person out of the pub on Friday due to his health condition, while a small group managed to leave the pub in an off-road vehicle.
The rest has remained.
– Nobody gets anywhere now, says the general manager of the pub, Nicola Townend, to the website.
This takes the pub goers, who have enjoyed the pub quiz and free buffet for three days, with stoic calm.
Karaoke and tribute band
Townend says that the snow depth in some places in the area is approaching three meters, and that everyone in the pub has been asked to stay put.
Since Friday, the snow-covered gang has, among other things, gathered around a big screen and watched a movie while drinking beer.
The Oasis tribute band Noasis has also been on stage, and on Sunday the pub goers sang to their hearts’ content.
– Yesterday they sang karaoke, and even Noasis performed some acoustic songs, says pub owner Mike Kenny to The Yorkshire Post.

– Everyone is fine
On Sunday, the pub hosted a best-dressed snowman competition, followed by cocoa and mulled wine drinking.
A sledding competition was also arranged outside the pub.
Townsend says that the pub has plenty of food and drink left, and that everyone has gotten to know each other well.
– We keep the fireplaces going. Everyone is fine and warm, she says.

Greet the guests
On Facebook the pub has posted pictures from the pub, where you see guests sleeping under blankets.
– Our guests have been absolutely fantastic. We could not have asked for better. They have been really patient and understanding, she says.
The pub owner says that the snow-covered guests say that they do not want to go when it is safe again.
– Some do not want to go. People store each other’s phone numbers and agree to come back next year, and they hope that it will snow then too, he says.
