Storm Alert: Seven Departments in France under Orange Vigilance, 79 Others under Yellow Vigilance

As a result of the high temperatures of recent days, stormy disturbances are expected over most of the territory, this Saturday, June 10. Seven departments in the north-west of France are placed in orange vigilance and 79 others in yellow vigilance.

Storms are coming! Temperatures aren’t going to drop. and should stay between 25 and 30 degrees throughout the day. In the northwest, Manche, Calvados, Eure, Eure-et-Loir, Seine-Maritime, and Sarthe and Mayenne are concerned by the orange vigilance set up by Météo France. In these seven departments, as in the 79 others, vigilance is therefore essential in view of possible showers which could turn out to be quite intense.

From Brittany to the Alps, via the Jura, it is therefore necessary monitor rainfall intensity. In places, rain and a few thunderstorms have already been observed. At midday, they should expand to the Paris region to the north of Burgundy, as well as in the PACA region, the Pyrenees and Corsica. Thunderstorm activity is expected weaken towards the end of the day.
