Squad Mielec steel caused quite a stir with just one Twitter post. At one point it seemed that most of the journalists would not come to the spring matches of the Podkarpacie team. The club’s spokesman calmed the situation in time, although many people are still dissatisfied.

It is about granting journalistic accreditation. Stal Mielec has decided to introduce a new rule for the spring round. “The application process for permanent accreditation for the next spring round has started. Accreditation will not be awarded to people who work with betting companies,” the club announced via Twitter.
This may have been a red flag for some. Many journalists cooperate with bookmakers, for example by advertising their services. There is no shortage of Canal + either, that is, the broadcaster, which is the official broadcaster matches Straklasa. Shouldn’t they have gotten accreditation all of a sudden?

It turns out that none of these things. In the comment below the tweet, the doubts were dispelled by the spokesman of the club, Mateusz Prokopiak. There was some misunderstanding. “People” – we mean the so-called scouts who provide statistics and submit accreditation applications for media representatives. All journalists are cordially invited, he clarified.
So journalists can breathe a sigh of relief. What about the people who collect statistics for bookmakers. There were a number of negative comments under the tweet. They underlined, inter alia, that such employees should also have the right to sit in the press gallery. Other users have noticed that Stal Mielec itself has a sponsorship deal with one of the bookmakers.

Stal Mielec will return to Games in Ekstraklasa on 27 January. Then they will host the champion in their own stadium Polish -Lech Poznan. Later he will go to Radom for the match against Radomiak on February 5th. At the moment, Adam Majewski’s team is in 7th place in the table.
