It was in 2013 that Petter Stordalen bought the holding company Oslo Properties, which later that year was renamed Strawberry Fields. During the period 2013–2021, Norwegian tax authorities believe that Stordalen withdrew more than SEK 800 million from the company without paying tax.

Therefore, the Norwegian businessman now requires 200 million Norwegian kroner, just over 195 million Swedish kronor.

Stordalen disputes the claims, but has not wanted to comment in connection with the trial itself.

Petter Stordalen is primarily known for his hotel group Strawberry, formerly Nordic Chocie Hotels, with hotels in Norway and Sweden. He has also bought into the travel agency Ving.

The trial is expected to last until March 11.
