Just before the new year, Stora Enso completed the previous savings package, which aimed to increase operating profit by 110 million euros. Then 1,150 employees had to leave, mainly in Finland, Poland, the Netherlands and Estonia.
Today, Stora Enso announces that it is starting a new “performance improvement program” with the goal of saving another 80 million euros by laying off approximately 1,000 employees in the group.
700 employees in Skoghall
It could affect Skoghall’s mill and the around 700 employees there.
– The negotiations have not started yet, so it is too early to say who will be affected. The entire group is being reviewed, says Carl Norell.
According to Carl Norell, there is no danger of Skoghall’s mill being closed down at this point.
