The National Authority announced For Egyptian Railways Stopping the movement of trains between El Alamein/Dabaa stations and the Kabara/Marsa Matrouh line on a temporary basis for a period of 12 days, starting from the morning of Sunday, corresponding to 3/12/2023, until the evening of Friday, corresponding to 15/12/2023, due to the implementation of construction work on flood culverts under the railway. Between El Alamein and El Dabaa stations, within the implementation of the work of the first line project of the high-speed electric train network (Sokhna/El Alamein/Matrouh), as part of the efforts made by the state to upgrade the transportation facility and raise the efficiency of roads and bridges.
The Authority explained that this will entail shortening all trains heading from Muharram Bey to Marsa Matrouh at El Alamein Station, as well as trains heading from Marsa Matrouh to Muharam Bey, will be shortened at Dabaa Station and transporting passengers between Dabaa and El Alamein stations on buses designated for this matter through coordination between the Railway Authority and the Authority. The General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport provided buses at El Alamein and Dabaa stations to transport passengers during that period.
Trains will be operated between Moharam Bey and El Alamein and between El Dabaa and Marsa Matrouh according to the attached schedules. With the start of works on 12/3/2023, trains 939/940 and 943/942 Cairo-Marsa Matruh and vice versa will be suspended, as well as train 658 Moharram Bey/Hammam until work on the line is completed.
The Authority apologized to the public of passengers for temporarily halting train movement between El Alamein and Dabaa stations during that period
