Seoul Subway Line 1 was towed after it stopped in operation due to a vehicle malfunction. There was an incident where about 500 citizens were isolated for a long time on their way home from work.

According to the Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) on the 15th, at around 7:58 pm on the same day, a Cheonan-bound express train on Line 1 stopped at a bridge over the Han River as it passed through Yongsan Station and headed to Noryangjin. Railway station. 500 train passengers had to be trapped inside the train for over an hour before it was towed onto another train.

A KORAIL official explained, “Because the train stopped at a bridge over the Han River, for safety reasons, we made passengers wait in the cabin.” Fortunately, there were known to be no mishaps such as the interior of the train going dark or the heating going out.

Due to this incident, both express trains and regular trains to Cheonan and Incheon once ran on regular railway lines, resulting in significant delays in the operation of Line 1. At 10:13 am, Korail said, “The measures are been completed and the Metro is operating normally”.
