(ANSA) – REGGIO EMILIA, APRIL 21 – Double blitz by animal rights activists in Reggio Emilia to say “no” to animal furs from the MaxMara Fashion Group. Yesterday afternoon, activists from the associations Lav, Human Society International and Fur Free Alliance started a flash mob of protest – regularly authorized by Digos – in front of the Reggio Emilia fashion house’s shop, in via Emilia San Pietro. With signs and megaphones they asked the Maramotti family, owners of the brand, to “eliminate fur from the collections of all brands”. This morning the surprise encore. The same group of activists interrupted a guided tour around 11 am in the “Collezione Maramotti” art gallery. Already two months ago, the same animal rights activists had flown over the MaxMara headquarters in Reggio Emilia on board a hot air balloon, unfurling a banner in the sky to ask them to adopt “a fur-free policy compared to the current range which includes articles made of fox, dog raccoon and mink who spend their whole lives in wire mesh cages, even on the floor, in conditions of poor well-being and are then killed by gas or electrocution”.
