Denmark: Stop drinking and shutting down cultural life
The Government of Denmark presents new corona measures.
Cinemas, amusement parks and theaters are closed, as well as other cultural and activity facilities. Premises for church and sports events are also closed.
– We need to meet fewer people, says Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.
Minister of Health Magnus Heunicke recommends that drinking establishments be introduced at restaurants after 10 pm, with a ban on the sale of alcohol between 10 pm and 5 am. The establishments will be closed from 11 pm.
Requirements for distance to shops are introduced. The government recommends that you only meet family and close acquaintances at Christmas.
The Epidemic Committee must approve all restrictions, and has been summoned to a meeting at 2.30 pm.
It is planned that school children will return to school on 5 January 2022.
The Prime Minister reports that 11,194 new cases of infection have been reported during the last 24 hours, with every fifth being infected with the omicron variant. There are more than 500 people hospitalized with coronary heart disease in the country.
