Stone Cold Steve Austin was interviewing this week and he admitted he regrets not having his match with Brock Lesnar when the time came.
Steve Austin was forced to retire early in 2003, so he never got a chance to face John Cena, Randy Orton or the likes, but he tells ‘Wesh 2 News’ that a match with Lesnar had originally been planned, but cancelled:
”The match I regret is the one against Brock Lesnar. A long time ago, I had to face him in Atlanta during a TV show. The match wasn’t that good creatively, so it never happened. I have so much respect for Brock, I’ve seen him through his evolution become one of the best athletes. He went into the world of MMA and became a world champion. He has a great career, no one has a career like him and his longevity is incredible. Brock Lesnar would be my answer.”
The possibility of seeing a match between Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar is still possible since Lesnar is still active and Austin could always step back into the ring another time for a WrestleMania. On the other hand, the two would not be at their prime as in the 2000s.
We will have to watch what the future holds for us.
