“Beijing is closely watching (the war in Ukraine – ed.) and is learning lessons that may influence its future decisions. Therefore, what is happening today in Europe can happen tomorrow in Asia,” Stoltenberg said.
According to him, China continues to significantly build up its armed forces, including the production of nuclear weapons “without any transparency.”
“China is trying to establish control over the South China Sea and threaten Taiwan, repressing its citizens and infringing on human rights, deepening the strategic partnership with Moscow. Therefore, NATO allies have real concerns,” the secretary general added.
