Stoltenberg assessed the likelihood of war between NATO and Russia

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg

The Alliance decided to create four additional multinational battlegroups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that, in his opinion, a full-scale war between Russia and the alliance is unlikely. On Thursday, March 24, he said in an interview with a correspondent CNN.

According to Stoltenberg, the unity of the NATO countries reduced the likelihood of a full-scale war. At the same time, he noted that the situation in Ukraine is unpredictable.

“As a result of the war in Ukraine, the Alliance has faced a new reality, in connection with which it must be ready for the long term,” he said.

The Secretary General added that Russia is not ready for de-escalation, but suggested that the Russians may need such a need, and then they “can contact us.”

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance would provide further support for Ukraine.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also said that Russia is looking for a pretext for use of chemical and biological weapons in Ukraine.
