Actress Diana Dimitrova was a victim of violence. She told it herself on her Facebook profile and published photos of her injuries.
“For 5 years I’ve been wondering why I didn’t find the strength at that moment to go to a doctor and file a complaint. Because I chose my career in the bud, rather than my dignity. Why did I allow this… man to “touch me ” the recovery time and get away with it. Because this guy, he never realized his gesture and never apologized, in fact, he even threatened me, in front of a team of 30 people, that he would do it again. And we had to work over and over again, and I just gritted my teeth. So hard they started breaking in my mouth.”
“You know what the scariest thing is? The scariest thing is that the many people I worked with at the time who witnessed chose to turn a blind eye to what happened, like it was normal. And I shut them up. And it went on, as before.
Why did I choose this? Because we live in Bulgaria. I was Mr. Nobody, and the media was Mr. Nobody, they would have squashed him if he pressed charges against such a powerful authority. That meant signing the verdict early,” the actress admits.
“Today it was extremely difficult for me to write this post. But I know that the wheel is turning and for everything and everyone there comes a time and a reckoning.
I don’t seek attention, I don’t name names, I don’t even want to dig up bodies. I just want to tell you, don’t make my mistake. Silence is not a solution.”
He urged his followers not to make his mistake as violence in any form is unacceptable.
“I want to tell you that hardly anyone is what their public image makes them out to be. Few are the real people in the actors’ guild.
This man is lucky to have met the other Diana 5 years ago, because if it had happened today, I swear by my grandmother, by her holy memory, I would have put him in prison where he belongs.”
Diana Dimitrova starred in many films, gaining popularity in Bulgaria with the role of Zornitsa Ognyanova in the TV series “Stolen Life”. However, her career began in 2015 with participation in National Geographic productions. She also starred in the Hollywood production “Death race 4” with Danny Glover and Danny Trejo. Diana started her appearance in ‘Stolen Life’ in the first season with a cameo role. Subsequently, the producer Evtim Miloshev invited her to participate in the fourth season with the main female role of the urologist Zornitsa Ognyanova, whose participation continued over the next nine seasons. At the same time she starred in the Bulgarian film “Letters from Antarctica”.
