Kollam: A KSRTC bus was stolen at Kottarakkara. The Venad bus numbered RAC354 (KL-15/7508) at Kottarakkara depot was stolen. After hours of searching, the bus was found from Parippally, Kollam.
The bus reached Kottarakkara depot around 10.30 pm after completing the service on Sunday. After checking in the garage, he stopped on the road near the municipal office. The driver arrived for service Monday morning. But there was no bus in the parking lot. He then checked the CCTV footage of nearby shops. It was clear in the scenes that a person was going towards Kollam by bus at half past one in the night. With this, it was confirmed that the bus was stolen.
KSRTC officials lodged a complaint with the police on Monday morning. Police and authorities conducted extensive inspections throughout the district. Meanwhile, the bus was found abandoned at a ground in Parippally, Kollam. Although the stolen bus was found, the police are still searching for the person who stole the elephant cart.
