After 727 days of waiting, Formula E is back on the tarmac in Brooklyn (New York) this weekend for the tenth and eleventh rounds of season 7 of the World Championship in the discipline. Follow the first of two New York E-Prix live on Tipik and Auvio from 10:20 pm!
This is the New Zealander Nick Cassidy (Virgin Racing), the fastest in Super Pole (1: 09.338) who will start from pole position ahead of the Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah), second in the qualifying session 0.161 seconds from first place.
Little to his business during the last four E-Prix (two withdrawals, a seventh place, a thirteenth place), Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-Benz EQ Formula E Team) has dropped to seventh place in the standings (54 points), but the Belgian driver intends to take advantage of his stay in the United States to move up the hierarchy.
The winner of the second E-Prix de Rome had the “advantage” of starting in the second of the four qualifying groups, which allowed him to benefit from a better track in the qualifying session, but he has hit the wall and will start from 21st place and the back of the starting grid (1: 10.952).
Brilliant in the last two races in Puebla (Mexico) where he was on the podium twice (one victory, third place), the Swiss Edoardo Mortara (Venturi Racing) now occupies first place in the standings (72 points) with ten steps ahead of his closest pursuer, the Dutchman Robin Frijns (Virgin Racing).
After this double header New Yorker, the Formula E World Championship will head to London (24-25 / 07) then Berlin (14-15 / 08), where the first World Champion in the history of the discipline will be crowned.
