At the last city council meeting in Stödtlen, deserving multiple blood donors were awarded. Mayor Ralf Leinberger praised the donors in the citizens’ hall of the town hall and entered the weekly BARF of 15,000 blood donations in Baden-Württemberg and Hessen. “You help save lives. By donating blood you are demonstrating a great service to others.
In recent years, Stödtlen has contributed thousands of blood donations for operations related to illnesses, accidents or births. Immediately after the Leonhardsfest, the Malteser Hilfsdienst organizes a blood donation in the Liashalle. “I’d like to say a big thank you for that,” Leinberger said. Leinberger appointed Hildegard Herfort of the Malteser organization as representative of all helpers.
They were awarded for ten blood donations: Kathrin Großmann, Lena Stromberger, Birgit Wegrath and Rainer Wegrath. For 25 blood donations: Nina Vaas and for 50 blood donations Roswitha Frühwirth and Bernd Weber. Thomas Erhardt has donated blood 75 times and Roland Gottwald, who has already donated blood 100 times, has received a very special honour. All received the blood donor’s needle of honor and the corresponding certificate.
“They are all role models for our society and that is why the public award is important and should always encourage people to emulate their role model,” Mayor Ralf Leinberger concluded.
