NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – Small price gains shaped the picture in early New York stock trading on Friday. The leading index Dow Jones Industrial rose without any major impetus by 0.25 percent to 34,550.82 points and thus continued the upward trend from the previous day somewhat. On a weekly basis, however, a minus of around half a percent is emerging. The index has been hovering around the 34,600 mark for two weeks.
The S&P 500, which represents the broad market 
rose by 0.14 percent to 4245.42 points, it had soared to a record high the day before. For the technology-heavy selection index Nasdaq 100 it went up by 0.10 percent to 13,974.38 points.
