Stock Performance in Gulf Cooperation Council Countries and Egyptian Stock Exchange Holiday

The performance of stocks in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was mixed, Thursday, in the weekend session, while the Egyptian Stock Exchange was on holiday on the occasion of the October victories.

The main Saudi stock index fell 0.70% to 10,764.85 points, with trades worth 4.1 billion riyals. The volume of shares traded amounted to 151 million shares.

The Saudi parallel stock index (Nomu) fell 0.40% to 22,667.94 points, with trades worth 27.8 million riyals, and the quantity of shares traded reached more than one million shares.

The general index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange fell 0.61% to 6789.6 points. The volume of shares traded amounted to 181.9 million shares through 11,401 cash transactions worth 35.6 million Kuwaiti dinars.

The main market index rose 0.22 points to reach the level of 5673.4 points, through the trading of 111.7 million shares through 5321 cash deals worth 12.6 million Kuwaiti dinars.

The Premier Market Index fell 0.77% to 7,401.70 points, with 70.2 million shares traded through 6,080 deals worth 22.9 million Kuwaiti dinars.

In parallel, the (Main 50) index rose 0.04% to 5,620.72 points, through the trading of 71.6 million shares through 3,601 cash deals worth 10.4 million Kuwaiti dinars.

In Bahrain, the Bahrain General Index rose 0.23% to 1,950.87 points. Trading volume reached 2.26 million shares, worth 566,754.75 Bahraini dinars. The Bahrain Islamic Index rose 0.11% to 737.84 points.

In Qatar, the Qatar Stock Exchange index fell 1.23% to 10,062 points. The trading volume in the market amounted to approximately 481 million riyals.

In the Sultanate of Oman, the Muscat Stock Exchange index rose 0.04% to 4734.99 points, through the trading of 8.87 million shares worth 2.31 million Omani riyals.

Outside the Gulf region, the Egyptian Stock Exchange was closed on Thursday, on the occasion of the October victories, and work on the stock exchange will resume on Sunday, October 8, 2023.
