The stock market simulation game is a 17-week online competition in which learners can trade securities based on prices from real stock exchanges. In addition to the overall portfolio rating, the topic of sustainability plays a major role with its own evaluation category. Attractive cash and non-cash prizes await the winners, e.g. the national winner’s trip, the European event with the winning teams from all countries and additional prizes for schools.

How can I participate in the stock market simulation game?
Registration and access to the portfolios is via the web and/or the stock market simulation game app, which is made available for installation in the app stores shortly before the game begins. Teachers receive access to the stock market simulation game teacher portal from their savings bank, which they can use to track the development of their students’ portfolios.

The stock market simulation game makes a major contribution to financial education. The Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau is thus also fulfilling its public mandate. The learners acquire (basic) knowledge about:

The stock market simulation game in brief
- The stock market simulation game takes place every year in autumn for around 17 weeks.
- The game is played with a virtual starting capital of €50,000.
- The game is played in teams of two to four people. Individual players are also allowed.
- The game can be accessed via the Stock market simulation app or a web version. This gives participants access to the competition and training depot and allows them to make purchases and sales.
- There is a wide selection of stocks, funds, ETFs and fixed-income securities.
- Settlement is done using the bid and ask prices. Cryptocurrencies or certificates can also be traded in the training depot.
