Stock Market Performance and Foreign Investor Buying Activities: Top Stocks to Watch

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) again showed brilliant performance last week, which was observed to have shot up to 1% and this has happened for two consecutive weeks.

Throughout last week, the JCI consistently moved at the psychological level of 6,900. In fact, the JCI even touched the psychological level of 7,000 in the first trading session on Wednesday this week.

At the close of trading in early September as well as last weekend, the index closed in the green zone. As for trading on Friday (1/9/2023), the index closed up 0.35% to 6,977.654.

However, throughout last week, foreign investors recorded net sales (net sell) in all markets of IDR 2.10 trillion. The details are IDR 1.58 trillion in the regular market and IDR 528.13 billion.

Of course, foreigners also made net purchases of a number of stocks which pushed up the JCI last week. Quoting RTI Business, here are net foreign buys over the past week.

2. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) – IDR 68.7 billion

3. PT Astra International Tbk. (ASII) – IDR 66.0 billion

4. PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) – IDR 36.3 billion

5. PT AKR Corporindo Tbk. (AKRA) – IDR 22.3 billion

6. PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk. (BRMS) – IDR 21.0 billion

7. PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk. (INKP) – IDR 15.2 billion

8. PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. (GOTO) – IDR 13.7 billion

9. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) – IDR 12.0 billion

10. PT Metropolitan Kentjana Tbk. (MKPI) – IDR 11.3 billion
