Wall Street – US equities
Shares in the US closed lower at the end of trading on Thursday as indices accompanied the decline and losses were recorded in the consumer goods, public institutions and industries sectors.
At the close in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.30%, while the S&P 500 fell 0.80% and the Nasdaq weakened 0.61%.
Among the leading stocks on the Dow Jones Industrial Average today was IBM (NYSE: IBM), which was up 4.73% or 5.79 points, and was trading at 128.30 at the close. On the other hand, shares of Salesforce Inc (NYSE: CRM) were up 2.49% or 3.83 points to end at 157.50 and shares of Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE: VZ) were up by 1. , 18% or 0.43 points to 37.00 in late trade.
As for the weaker stocks at the end of trading, Home Depot stock (NYSE: HD) closed lower at 2.19% or 6.03 points and was trading at 269.46 at the close. Caterpillar Inc (NYSE: CAT) fell 2.10% or 3.87 points to 180.54 and the share of Cos Travelers Inc (NYSE: TRV) fell 1.89% or 3.30 points to 170 , 87.
On the other hand, the best performance of the S&P 500 was recorded by the title Lam Research Corp (NASDAQ: LRCX), which was up 7.81% to 355.87, AT&T Corp (NYSE: T) also continued to rise 7.72% and closed at 16.74, and Quest Diagnostics (NYSE : DGX) rose towards 6.32% and closed its trade at 134.66.
Among today’s worst performers were Allstate Corp (NYSE: ALL), which lost 12.90% to 117.71, Union Pacific Corp (NYSE: UNP), which lost 6.80% to 186, 45 and Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA), which weakened 6.65% and closed today’s trading session at 207.28.
The best performance of the Nasdaq index was instead recorded by Nextplay Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: NXTP), which rose 107.31% to a price of 0.41, Cabaletta Bio Inc (NASDAQ: CABA) continued to rise 50.77% and closed at 1.96, as did the stock. Save food Inc (NASDAQ: SVFD) was up about 31.33% and closed at 1.97.
Today’s worst performers include Talaris Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: TALS), which lost 43.39% to close at 1.37 shares. LMF acquisition opportunity Inc (NASDAQ: LMAO), which lost 34.55% to 6.82, and Candel Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: CADL), which weakened 26.00% and closed at 1.48 in today’s trading session.
The number of decliners exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher on New York Stock Exchange trading in 2055 compared to 1026, while 111 remained unchanged. As for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2042 of the shares fell and 1697 of the shares strengthened its position, while 230 of the shares maintained their value.
Shares of Union Pacific Corp. (NYSE: UNP) fell to a 52-week low, falling 6.80% or 13.61 points to 186.45. Shares of Talaris Therapeutics (NASDAQ: TALS) fell to all-time lows, losing 43.39% or 1.05 to 1.37. Shares of LMF Acquisition Opportunities Inc (NASDAQ: LMAO) fell to an all-time low, down 34.55%, or 3.60, to 6.82. Shares of Candel Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ: CADL) fell to all-time lows; down 26.00% or 0.52 points to 1.48.
500 volatility index, which measures the implied standard deviation of options on the S&P 500 index which traded 2.54% down and closed at 29.98.
December delivery gold futures contracts fell 0.17% or 2.85 and closed at $ 1,631.35 per ounce. As for other commodities, the December delivery WTI crude oil futures contract rose 0.50% or 0.42 to a price of $ 84.94 per barrel, while the December contract for Brent oil contracts rose 0.26% or 0.24 points and closed at $ 92.65 a barrel.
The EUR / USD pair held 0.12% stability and traded at 0.98 levels, while the USD / JPY pair continued to rise towards 0.19% and reached 150.17 levels.
Dollar index contracts traded 0.07% lower to the 112.80 level.
