A few days after the release of his album Duets, Sting offered two live performances as part of the series Tiny Desk from NPR, and on issue Good Morning America d’ABC.

In both cases, he interpreted “African in New York”, a reinterpretation of the 1987 classic “Englishman in New York”, with African musician Shirazee.
“It feels good to be in a room with someone else singing,” Sting laughed. “It’s been a year since I’ve been doing it on my own, I needed another human. Still, Sting said earlier this week that he preferred to work solo and even regretted The Police’s short-lived reunion in 2007.–
For the issuance of NPR, after “African in New York,” Sting also performed (solo, this time) “If I Ever Lose My Faith in You”, titular track of the 1993 album, Ten Summoner’s Tales. He ended with “Sister Moon.”
