Sting, Blur, Depeche Mode, Paolo Nutini, Sam Fender, Florence and The Machine and Hozier are set to headline a series of concerts from June 14-30, expected to draw up to 20,000 fans each night. However, the event required an occasional liquor license, which was challenged by three local residents who cited concerns over public drinking, public order, and traffic congestion. Despite their objections, Coolock Garda Inspector Oliver Woods outlined a policing strategy focused on enforcing public drinking laws, and the council allowed the event with 28 conditions, including a ban on drinks being served after 10 pm. The case resumes next week when the residents will give evidence supporting their objection, despite the fact that Malahide already faces a High Court challenge and a pending district court objection regarding outdoor serving at local pubs.
