Stina Nilsson has shown a strong message in her first remote appearance, reports SVT Sports. She won the nine-mile long Klarälvs race on roller skis – two seconds ahead of Norway’s Emelie Fleten.
Stina Nilsson picked up the pace early in the race with, among others, Fleten, who dominated the Visma Ski Classics last season. The whole thing was then decided in a sprint battle between Nilsson and Fleten.
– Then I got it exactly as I wanted. It was very nice when there were fewer and fewer of us in the group, because it is quite crowded when there are many of us, says Stina Nilsson.
Nilsson, with Olympic and World Cup gold in cross-country skiing, announced last season that she was suspending biathlon for a cross-country campaign.
